Welcome and thank you for your interest in the former GSVBw42 of the German Armed Forces in Rüdesheim an der Nahe.

Due to the overwhelming response to the open bunker door day over the Whitsun holidays in 2024, we have decided to offer additional guided tours on 08th and 09th of June 2025 (Whitsun and Whitmon). You may order tickets via Cortex Ticket Service. Link to the Flyer Bunkerführung.

For over a year, we collected materials from other bunkers that are no longer maintained in Germany and installed them at the original locations in the bunker. We would like to expressly thank the owners of GSVBw 34 in Wilnsdorf and GSVBw 29 Accum, as well as the town of Meßstetten in the Black Forest (owner of the Martin bunker) for their unselfish provision of materials.

Essentially, the following work has been carried out since last year:

Kitchen including original Haas electric stove, seating and tables as well as shelves for emergency food supplies etc.

All furnishings are fully functional

Additional beds in the designated holders in the rooms and corridors, as well as special rest rooms
Original rows of seats in the corridors
Original RTTY teleprinter
WLAN to have a connection to the outside world at all times
Generator batteries checked for condition, filled with caustic potash solution and made functional
Toilets, urinals, washing facilities and showers made functional

Hot water at all washbasins

Waste water lifting system repaired and put into operation

We are happy to offer guided tours for larger groups and/or company events. The number of people per tour is limited to 12 to 14. Please contact us info@gsvbw42.de.

There is also the possibility of staying in a very comfortable vacation apartment on site. However, this is only rented out on a weekly basis, but offers 2 separate bedrooms, each with a double bed and a further room with a single bed. Other accommodation options are available, e.g. inflatable bed or air mattress. Up to 10 people can easily stay in a vacation apartment. Details under Google,

We also can offer a nice and very comfortable appartment on a weekly basis. It is equipped with 2 separate bed rooms with king size beds and an additonal room with a single bed.
